How much is the seller after? Is it in decent nick?

I don't want to sound presumptuous or rude, but you seem a little unsure about bikes. Do you know someone who could go along to a viewing who could give you good advice?

It's in very good condition. Just serviced etc. yeah I could do with someone experienced with bikes to maybe look at it. The guy wants £500 for it. I was also looking at the Triban 5

Brand new or second hand Triban?

The BMC would get my money either way to be honest, it's a great frame. Ask the seller what groupset and wheels are on there and post the spec on here. Or if it's an online listing give us a link and we can give you a hand.

Same spec as the BMC new would be in the region of £1500, so £500 sounds ok if the bike is in decent condition.

As many have said, buy the BMC. You really need to check it out though. If stuff is worn on it or the wheels are not true it could end up costing you money on top.

Got the BMC. Sold my old Claud Butler for a few hundred quid so all in the bike cost me £300. It is in mint condition and came with a Fizik arione seat as we'll. really pleased with it. All I need is some decent weather to get out on it!!!
