Light rain forcast for 12.00 then again at 14.00.
So....rain jacket in back pocket and off for a quick 20-25 miler.
They forgot to mention the hurricane at 13.00
10 miles from home it absolutely battered down and within 10 minutes the roads were like mini rivers.
Oh how I laughed !!!
TBF the rain jacket kept the top half dry(ish) but from the waiste down ugh! My shoes were actually 'sloshing' with water.
Ah well......dried off and with a nice malt whisky in hand now.....I am about to watch the Irish Open Golf. Life ain't too bad .

I never even looked at the forecast today. I was a bit miffed when it began raining but it was nowhere near as bad as you had it, still the roads felt a little bit treacherous on the corners.

@Dave7, sounds like you had the opposite day to me yesterday. Showers forecast all day yesterday but only one quick shower a couple of miles from home in 9 hours outside!

The forecasts for Devon have been spot on this week... not that it's delivered us the weather I'd have liked at all times, but the bands of rain have been predicted days before, and have arrived pretty much on cue.

Yeah, I got wet again today, but at least the rain is hotter than recent months.
Well..........
This was a mix of BIIIG rain drops and hail. I actually found myself laughing as it was ludicrous.
So......I am glad that your rain was hotter but mine was maybe slightly less cold .

Went to a boot sale about 9.30 this morning with just a few drops of rain. 20 minutes later and it was belting it down, roads like rivers and two blokes on bikes who did a 360 at a roundabout so assumed to head back home. Great sunshine at 4pm and dried roads so went for a quick 10 miles to loosen my legs a bit.

Rain has ruined my plans for a bike ride up in North Wales this weekend. Good job I got the 50k ride in the lakes earlier in the month

Sunshine and hot all day long, perfect for 6 hours of patio cleaning followed by a fast hour off road on the bike, which was followed by washing 4 cars. On top of that just finished my 30 minute stretching regime.

Feeling well alive, not a bad day for this 60 year old, oops! I forgot to mention an hour in the office first thing doing some work.

Same thing happened to me, weather forecasts (various - I always look at a few from different sources) were all saying rain at 1300. Went out at 10 and I got caught in THE heaviest rain storm of my cycling career at about 12 near Eureka cyclist's cafe. Shoes still drying on the shoe dryer
