I sometimes think that, too. I sold an item on ebay and sent it by recorded delivery but it never got delivered. Thankfully, the buyer was cool about it and I gave him a full refund, whilst I filled in the form to reclaim my loss.
Yeah, loads of mail goes missing everyday even with recorded delivery - don't trust stuff to arrive with royal mail, always get some proof of posting so you can at least claim up to £32 back (more if sent recorded)
I love ebay. I spotted for a auction a Campag Centaur front mech, 'band on' type of the size I want (31.8mm). Supposedly immaculate condition.
Got to be worth a whirl.
So I bid the huge sum of £1.04 and won the item. Post was a bit expensive at £3.00 Recorded Delivery, but it arrived the next day, and is indeed in immaculate condition, as new. Bit of a bargain.
