Black pixels on screen

I randomly get black pixels 'flashing' over my laptop screen. Does anybody know what could be causing them?

It's a Lenovo G50-30 that originally ran Windows 8 and now runs Lubuntu. I am hoping it will last until October when there will be lots of cheap Windows 10 laptops on the market.

I had something like that on an old laptop. It won't reassure you that it suddenly went to complete screen failure, according to the IT bod at work probably the connection between the screen and everything else.

If you've got a spare monitor, maybe worth plugging that into the laptop and seeing if the same black dots are there.
