Mrs. Ardon has a Crossfire 1. It's fairly heavy for an aluminium bike and there are a few compromises that have been made to get it to a certain price point (freewheel rather than a cassette hub, rubbish tyres and rim tapes) but overall it's a nice bike for the money and most of it is of good, serviceable, quality.

Which Ridgeback do you have?

Agree. One of the few Halfrauds bikes worth owning. Well reviewed, well specced and well put together. Takes rack and guards for a gtood all-rounder. Mate rode one on several 60 milers.

Halfrauds are car orientated, they're great if you've got a car but rubbish if you've got a bike.

Chris Boardman disagrees.

What, apart from the other Carreras, the Konas? The Voodoos, the GTs? the Boardman Hardtails, Full Sussers? The Boardman Road bikes, the majority of which are better specc'd than virtually anythig else at the price point? The Boardman Performance Hybrids? Oh no, nothing in the store even worth looking at other than a Subway!

Oh, and all Halfords staff are brainless spanner monkeys, apart from all the ones members on CC have said "Well, apart from the kid with ginger hair at Huddersfield, he knows what he's doing" etc etc etc.

See what I did there?

i bought a gryphon, loved it for about two rides. Then it went to crap, wheels fell apart and disc breaks caused no end of trouble, so changed wheels to bontrager race lights and put caliper brakes on, not a bad bike again but wouldn't recomend to anyone.
