This is the key. I didn't have enough faith in my Giant SCR A1 to attempt long distance solo rides so bought a Ti bike. I never doubted its strength and reliability and so could do long distances without any worry about the bike.

I didn't know that was there. Me and Lelly have achieved internet fame at last (LPY3810)
Charlotte's work- didn't know that was all online either...great stuff. Hummers

So basically any old bike then .
Tony.

Sort of. There is great variation. Most of them have 25mm tyres, all have drop bars, all have clipless pedals, most have gone to trouble to have light luggage
If you read US sites about "randoneuring" you'd assume everyone would be on a classic custom steel frame. In fact it's mainly off the peg racing bikes

Thing is, a lot of people feel as though they have to have the 'right' gear to feel comfortable and if that's how you want to roll, go for it. Audaxers put that on it's head, by using whatever feels is right for them. What you've done is shown photographic evidence of that .

That's right, although we don't do the "feels is right" tubala rasa we see what other people do. Hopefully my photos are part of that process. I really really don't want to say "Mike Hall rides a carbon bike with a custom frame bag, tribars, deep section wheels and ultragator skins* so you should too!"

*(yes the round the world record holder really does ride audax with these kit items)
