Oh and I quite like the "gentlemans" bike. Not sure how practical it would be on the hills round here, but more than willing to give it a go if anyone would like to donate one for xmas.

Prices didn't look too bad when I visited last year, although I suppose the bikes are very simple so you are not getting a lot of components for your money.

The brand appeared to be Japanese, and the marketing material suggested that type of bike is popular as a 'city bike' in Japan.

Only definition of a womans bike is "a bike owned or ridden by a woman". Anything else is bollox.
