If one clock says 10 past and the other says 20 past, then the average time would be 15 past.

I used to collect carriage and skeleton clocks and had them all going at the same time. There I learnt about average time. It's slightly more accurate then gauging the sun, but not much.

I didn't get it. Maybe next time. On average I get about 60% of them.
