bike without braze ons..?

Spoilt lot aren,t we? When I was 14 or 15 I had a 5 speed Sun, so called , racing bike. I used it for school every day, out at night on it to hang around with my mates and give girlfriends a lift home on the crossbar. Carried my mums washing to the launderette and back, rode miles to my Saturday job, also often used as a goalpost and did weekend rides with the YHA. Plus 2 week tours on it around the UK. Never thought of it as an all round bike. It was just my bike.

Maybe, but if someone's buying a bike specifically to do a tour, it may as well be a bike that's up to the job.
I mean, I could do a 7 week tour on my Brompton, but I'd sooner not!!

dawes galaxy or horizon might do the trick if you can pick one up. or a one of the edinburgh bicycle coop tourers...

I did this last last on a GT avalanche - had a rack with P-clips - it was a pain in the arse but just about held together during the trip. When I got back, I unscrewed the p-clips and the snapped off the rack. Not a sight you want to see when touring!
