Bike under a lorry in Yate

Saw a bike under the front wheels of a TNT lorry in Yate this morning. It was a light blue bike and it was trapped under the front left hand wheel looking a little mangled. There were ambulance and police on scene.

It was on the Badminton Road, the roundabout just below the council building.

I'm hoping the cyclist has been lucky, but it's playing on my mind.

Horrid to see. Fingers crossed. I remember seeing a chap off his bike and trapped under a car at Latteridge. The car was on its side.

He was being attended to by ambulance and police were on the scene. He was talking away to the professionals, but I often wonder what happened and how he was.

The Latteridge Road isn't one I'd be keen on cycling on in peak commuting times especially at this time of year (I know some do, but not me!)

I've looked and failed to find any information on this crash so far - which I'm hoping is good news. Like you say you just want to know that they are hopefully OK physically.

I assume the cyclist was going along the Badminton Road (not many come out of Culvert Avenue in the morning), and that the lorry had come out of Culvert Ave).

I believe it was one of my club mates. She is thankfully okay - just a broken finger & bruising. However she will need a new helmet.
