Bike test drives

Im toying with the idea of moving from my hybrid to a road bike. However before parting with my cash I was wondering if LBS's offer test rides ie you borrow a bike for a day or two to try out. Obviously I'd be happy to leave some sort of deposit.

It seems to be a fairly sensible idea and as its possible with expensive cars I guess it may be possible to offer it with bikes.

The main reason is I've had a bit of back trouble in the past and so I want to know if the more aerodynamic position would suit me on a longer ride.

I'm in Bristol - so if any local LBS offers it, shout!!!

Most shops will tend to offer test rides, but I doubt any will loan them for a day or two as you suggest.

WIGGLE offer a 30 day test ride though. Granted this limits you to their range of bikes which seems to have diminished over the past year or two, but it does give you the chance to thoroughly test the bike before you commit to it. You can check out the T&C's HERE

Pete - not around my way (Northants) but you could try a local bike rental place. If it's just a road bike (as in any road bike) you want to get the feel of, these will let you for money.
