I live in City Centre and keep my bike in my flat at present, its kind of in the way a bit. Plan going forward is to take front wheel off, turn handle bars and put it flush with the wall in the hall. Is there an suitable stand that will hold the front fork as I dont want to rest it on the floor. Alternatively, I could hang it from the wall.

Think laterally.
Bunk bed. You sleep below, bike sleeps above.

Quite possibly. Cant hang from ceiling so will need to be wall - but will need to ask landlords permission to do that and might not get it.

Or does anyone know of a rest the front fork could sit on at a right angle to the bike? might have to go to B7Q and try and make one

What sort of stem is it? I mean, would it just be simpler to loosen and swivel the stem each time? I guess it's more faff if it's an ahead type, not a quill. (all mine are quills)

Most likely you'll need to drill the wall for a decent way of getting the bike out of the way.

Doesnt look like its an easy loosen and tighten job. Ill speak to landlord about hanging it from wall, walls are solid brick so should hold okay, but failing that ill have to go make a homemade stand to rest the front fork on.

I bought a simple wall mount from Halfords and use it in my garage.

The support arm keeps the bike high and out of the way and folds upwards when not in use.

Inexpensive, less than £20 i recall, and very functional.

I feel for you we are in a one bed flat with 3 bikes in the hall, i believe you can get big hooks to hang em on, no good for me as my hall is allready utilised with floor to ceiling bookcases, we have just learnt to live with it, when i flog the flat my next housing choice will probably revolve around the bike, like every other desicion. sigh

I had never thought of bunk beds though thats quite nifty

nicest looking wall bracket I've seen is the range of inverted coloured plastic buckets. They look like a bottle top fixed to the wall and you just hang your top tube on it .Looks ubba cool
