It's a difficult one as saddles are such a personal thing. There are lots out there and everyone has their favourites.

I own both sorts that get the most frequent recommendations: the Charge Spoon (I find mine okay but not for long rides) and if you're feeling flush the Brooks B17 has plenty of fans (it's the only saddle I've had that is good for properly long distances but it isn't perfect).

My suggestion would be to visit a specialized dealer. They have a device nicknamed the arsometer, which measures the sit bones and gives a good chance of finding the saddle that will work for you.

Patch it up with duct tape or get a new one. I think the OP is unlikely to want to spring for a brooks on a landrover bike. I'd look on fleabay or ask nicely on the forum if someone has something in the shed for the cost of the postage and a jiffy bag

Do you mean a saddle? Look at the gubbins that hold the saddle on, if the rails sit between a clamp in grooves, then that is normal

Just pre-empting the recommendations that always come up when saddles are mentioned.;)
