Anothr question

The bike I currently use is a Carrera LRS 3. Link to the image is here: http://www.phatmeister.com/_photos/LRS_rh_1.jpg

I use it to cycle on canal routes at the moment. But in the future I would want to do races, downhill, dirt jumping etc. I am about to purchase a Cannondale Chaser 09. I was going to purchase this for street jumping before I started cycling, but I'm thinking maybe I should get a better mountain bike.

I'm new to the world of competition, and I'm in no state to take part atm, but in a good 7 - 8 months I should be.

The LRS I have is fine, in good working order. Never had any issues with it and I've used it on some awful terrain in the past.

What should I advance to if I was to put my Cannondale Chaser on hold?

if you want to start D/Hing or DJing then you will need something like the chaser, cannodale arent renown for their DJ bikes, a better bet would be something like a DMR, amazing at street and dirt and with the right tyers will handle D/H, the only thing with DMRs is that the wheels tend to be a bit week so they get changed very often. i beleive that i saw a dmr transition advertised here for ebay, that is a good place to look because people will already have upgraded them, the bass is amazing but prone to more d/h, d/h rigs are expensive to get, you wont be able to get a decent one under 800 used which is why i prefer a Dmr as they are still amazing but a tad cheaper, spesh if you buy them new.
