Hi,

so, I'm about to start commuting to work

At work we have a bike stand which it's attached to a wall - The only problem with it is that's it's the variety of stand that you place the wheel of you bike into and there no real way to lock it to the frame, only the wheel (whch can obviously be removed quite easily).

And if you interested here's a pic of it http://www.flickr.com/photos/mushroomgod/4061447425/

So, I'm now thinking Id best buy a chain that can be wrapped around the frame of the bike. I was wondering if there any good chains worth (or not worth) getting?

Cheers for the advice!

Yep, I realise it's not great. There is one good thing though - the complex i work in is a small courtyard which is overlooked but some other companies...so not great but not to bad either

Do all the stands get used? If not you can put your bike sideways across a few of them (i.e. locking rear wheel to one stand and the front to another).

Those locks are also called "wheel benders".

You should be able to get a cable and shackle that'll reach, shackle through frame and front wheel, cable through wheel and stand.

Can't help you specifically - access to where I work is via security and the bike parking is similar.
