OK I've got the new bike and am really getting back into cycling again. I'm now turning to more mundane issues. In this case insurance!! Can anyone recommend any insurance companies?

I have actually got mine on a seperate policy specifically for bikes. I looked at all the small print on various policies and as i travel a lot with my bike some would only cover the bike if stored in a locked boot and not a hatch back. But ironically would be covered on a rear mounted rack which can be cut through with a knife. I think it costs about £75 pa but I have an email from them saying that if its covered (by a blanket) in my hatchback it will be covered.
I suppose it depends on exactly what you want but my advice is to look at the policy details before goign ahead
I looked at cycle specific stuff and CycleGuard wanted something like £160 to insure up to a total of the £1,700 replacement value I wanted. M&S contents insurance was just over £100 and covers up to £4k per item, including away from home. They have a specific bit on their FAQ that says this includes bikes. There's probably stuff about minimum security but I'd hope that my kryptonite fahgettaboudit + cable lock would be enough to qualify.
