Bike Insurance whilst on Holiday

Taking three bikes on back of motorhome for a couple of trips to Europe - Holiday insurance will only cover bikes up to £250 each which was fine when we only had inexpensive bikes

Anybody know if it is possible just to insure bikes for time abroad? ( At home they are specifically covered on home insurance for proper value - Approx 2k for the 3 ) but they will not cover bikes for trips abroad.

Also any recommendations on companies that insure bikes ?

Check your home contents insurance. It could be that this covers the bikes. While you're at it check that the home contents insurance covers the bikes you have. Some policies only cover up to £500 per bike or so, and then only if it's locked to the lunar module with fibre-optic alarm cable while you stand on one leg yodelling in Serbo-Croat, or some other such condition.

I googled specialist bike insurance and was quoted an amount more than the entire contents insurance on my house. I have decided that on renewal I will shop for a policy that covers bikes as we know them.....
