As long as I breathe, I attack.
Going back to Adrian again for a refit on a new bike.
He just needs to respond to emails, i contacted him a couple of times asking for a fit and never got a response and clubmates have said hes good at what he does but customer interaction is a bit meh .

I am sure he was away recently, normally there are people in the shop to answer the phone, which to be honest is the best way to communicate with a small business.

I agree the customer interaction is not so good. I left my bike there to get a service after the fit. Two days later my appendix burst I was in hospital for ten days plus two months not being able to do that much. My wife called the shop to ask if we could leave the bike there and to be honest they were brilliant. I think Adrian is just a quiet guy. His staff are very friendly and helpful. My next bike is going go come there but just don't tell the wife I'm getting it!!

I have decided to take the plunge and have a bike fit at pedal precision. They are based at the Manchester velodrome and the guy that does it is a physio as well. He was recommended to me by a frined of mine that runs a national level bike team.
I have never been uncomfortable on my bike and managed 200+mile rides comfortably, but since I got on the bike 6 months after an accident last year in which I suffered a fractured neck (spinous process fracture), I am struggling to get comfortable. I have bought a shorter stem and flipped it, to bring my bars up and closer to my body (I have always ridden quite low before the crash, with a 130mm stem and no spacers under it) but I am still getting pains in my shoulders, neck and lower back, as well as a pain in my right elbow and I am having to alter my position on the bike as I ride to counter each pain as it occurs. I am hoping he can fix a few things on the bike for me and give me some exercises to help me improve my body. It is quite expensive, but my solicitor has told me that we will be able to claim the costs back in the claim against the driver that pulled out in front of me.

I had a bike fit done at Velocity in Portsmouth and I am very pleased with it. It is possible to do it yourself just as well, though.

How custom are these bike fits? I've got multiple body issues ranging from a metal rod in one leg to limited rotation in one wrist. If they simply take your measurements and arrive at a "recommended" position I'll be leaving in far more pain than my diy setup.

I had a bike fit at Pedal Precision 18 months ago. He is very thorough and very professional he didn't make any big adjustments just a few small ones. He spent over 30 minutes on setting my cleats alone..
I didn't find that the next ride felt any different to be honest. But the difference is I ride longer both in time and distance before feeling fatigued. The only aches I have are just general training muscle tiredness.
Would recommend.
