I am really considering a bike fit as i have some issues with numb hands linked to problems with my neck that i have had physio for and i have exercises to do forever, as i type my left hand is a bit tingley .This all started about 4 months ago before which my fit was fine then started doing a heavier job at work and moved house.
There is cadence sport but he wants close to £190 with custom footbeds and when i tried to contact them i got no reply for a fit without foot beds.A bit further away in Derby i can get a fit for £90 so i think i might look at that for xmas .

I had custom footbeds but they didn't cost that much and they were a suggestion by the fitter not compulsory. They have solved my numb toes problem as i have high arches.I am pretty sure they cost me an extra £20.

Cyberknight - From the top down this is what i didn't have done compared to your list.

I didn't have the video done. I suppose it would have been nice to see the before and after but for me it felt very obvious.Perhaps thats me but a lot of the changes are actually very small but made such a huge difference i am not sure i would have seen them, only felt them.

The footbeds i seriously question as not everybody is going to need them and even if they do there are different makes so i think your shop is on commission there and taking the proverbial.

The rest was almost exactly the same and it was a good two hours on a Saturday morning. There is a lot of talking about you and your bike, what you do with it and what you want to be able to do and also your fitness, injuries etc.

Despite this being a birthday present i don't think i would have been happy paying nearly £200 for what was done. I love my cycling and have reaped the benefits but i don't race competitively. I do around 100 miles a week spring to Xmas and its predominantly for leisure/fitness.

You mentioned a cheaper one, have you been able to compare what the two offer ?

Now i am not saying hes not worth it , the guy is an ex pro rider who rode the tdf etc its just more than i can afford.
The other price i had was £90 for a basic fit
The level 1 bike fit option uses traditional static bike fit measurements while the rider is stationary on the bike. An Excellent choice for people in the process of selecting a new bike and needing to know what kind of geometry is going to suit them best, or riders who need general guidance of a suitable set-up for their existing bike. The fitting jig used allows any geometry to be replicated or the fit can be performed on your own bike. The process ends with the mechanical set-up of your current bike and the production of a PDF report of the final set-up geometry. If you don't have a the bike that needs setting up at the time of the fit, bring it back in at a later date to complete the set-up.

Sorry didn't mean to make it sound like it wasn't worth it. It just wouldn't be for me and for the riding I do. As you said he is an ex pro and had done the TDF . That in itself will bump the price up. The two look to me to be two ends if the spectrum so I wonder if there is a place that can offer the middle ground near you?

Hill Wimp the foot pads are extremely good quality and feel extremely comfortable, I would certainly recommend them to every body.

Its only really my hand position i need tweaking , i get numb fingers very quickly lately so i just need someone to look at that aspect really as the rest of my fit feels pretty good .I have perused the fit guidlelines but sometimes you need an outside eye to state the obvious.
