Eek sounds nasty!
Who cycles with a £1,500 watch on their wrist? I have a £1,500 watch and would never go cycling with it on
Tag heuer glasses?

So when would you wear your watch? Less evident when cycling than walking around, sat at your desk in the surgery etc.

The scroats where after his bike, should he have left that behind as well, riding around in public on a £1.5K bike what a muppet................. oh wait.............

You presumed that my comment was based aroun the risk of it being stollen. Where as it was based around it getting damaged ;)

I'd be more worried about the human bite...

If they bit him on the arm (thats a weird M.O. for a robbery) then we should have taken swabs of the bite, and as long as the 'biter' has been arrested before, his DNA will be on file. Weird attack though - I'd be assuming the good doctor had one of them in a headlock at one stage to get bitten, shame he couldn't hang on!

I cycled through Baguley (Wythenshawe) for 8 years on my daily 36km commute. Holyhedge Rd even has a Audax event that goes down the same road that is put on about 5 times a year. Never had any problems.

I've never encounted any problems, only pun****s. Wythenshawe does have some wrong ones knocking about, the guy is just unlucky.

Exactly..who rides round in traffic on a £1.5k bike - oops - guilty.

Comments about the glasses - I've got a pair of Oakley and Police glasses - I need to wear then otherwise I can't see.

It's Baguley - scums ville. Used to work there. Let's say I never cycled slowly to work round there, and stuck to the A560 rather than through the estate !

In between here and there
I have often wondered about being mugged for the bike, mines quite expensive but some are riding around on 4k+ worth of almost untraceable easy to sell product and ready made getaway machine!

I collect watches, always got a nice one on, even when cycling. To think some baddie can identify any high level watch on a rider, never mind a Rolex, is plain silly, even the paper can't get the information correct, Rolex Oyster? They knicked a "watch" and got lucky, that's all.

I've been to Wythenshawe twice in my life, first time over 2 decades ago, I had my car radio stolen...................then the car. Second time, about 10 years ago I had my motorbike stolen (a big heavy Kwacker GTR1000) in the time between getting off it, buying a Mars Bar from a newsagent and returning outside! I've a real downer on Manchester and will never go back silly really.
