Could you wear the zero's in this temp? @ about 13°c or would they get you to hot?

Thinking about it, having windproof would be worth it for me living within a mile of the cost. It does blow a bit here!!
I've had them on a few times last couple of weeks and as long as you don't overdo the top layers it's fine. They're a cracking piece of kit.

Prendas do some Santini for £59 with the Max 2 insert & super roubaix. Good tights, uber service.

I had some dhb's that lasted about 4 years before the zip went  only ones that have lasted longer are Lusso repel, but they dont have a pad, so don't get worn as often. Bought some from PBK in the summer at 90% off & they are not as good as the dhb I had, but for £6 they'll do ^_^ My next pair will probably be dhb ones

Not this exact model, mine are coated in water repellent but they do have the Max 2 insert. Very comfortable and very hard wearing even had a fall in them with no tears. Any problems and Prendas will sort it anyway and your dealing with people that actually ride bikes and use the gear their selling.

Thanks. At least there seems to be a selection of options for a decent price.

In going to buy a pair soon as I'm sure the cold snap is on it's way!

Hi all,

As per title, looking for some tights for around £50. These seem to be the popular choice but was wondering if anyone has anything else I should consider? I was thinking Roubaix for thermal properties.

Thanks.
Picked up a pair of these yesterday, I bought the medium... either I've packed on a couple of inches (likely) or they're sized a bit small. Seem very comfortable and warm in the house parading around making wifey laugh, yet to try them on the bike

Anyone got any first hand experience of how good the padding is on the dhb tights?
I have. I found them slightly thicker than some other budget brands (eg Altura) but very comfortable. Everyone is different "down there", however, so sometimes its just worth taking a punt.

I also recommend Vermarc as they also do a lot of budget stuff. Or just buy the team kit as its reduced now the season is over.

Yeah many companies you will have to go up a size. DHB, Castelli and Vermarc are all what I would call "Italian cut" - they must have some skinny lads out that way. Look at the size charts on each website and guestimate if you need more space. I was borderline top of the XL on castelli's chart so went for XXL.

If you've legwear that isnt padded get a padded seat cover (7 quid from Decathlon, Evans, Halfords etc). I've done this with the ronhill running tights or normal trousers
