Unless you're one of the first out of the starting blocks, you'll have a long day .... but that's the point surely? It's a cycling carnival of 50, 000. There's some atrocious riding, people stopping at random, people with no anticipation of inclines and plenty log jams later in the morning. So be it. If you want to ride fast do it another day when the route is empty.
Heed the Mashalls advice. Don't be a nobber.

I'm hoping to be doing it again, but this time on my BSA (with a longer seatpost!):

Been doing it more times than I can recall (since '84) .... last year by Brompton.

Enjoy!

Union Dynamo with the BIG front light:okay:

Although I am not convinced it throws out any more light than the smaller light.

The light output is equivalent to 2 excited glow-worms in a jam jar .....

Hiya, no idea! It's not like we plan this stuff with any accuracy! At least 2 of us are doing it on old folders, my mates is single speed with a pedal brake so that should be fun :-) Don't wait for us, we might be all day ....
:-)
No worries. Let's all keep our eyes peeled.
