Beware Edinburgh tram lines

Seems to have become an even a bigger national embarrassment today, apparently it is now not going to go past Haymarket.

You have to feel sorry for the poor sod that fell off his bike due to the tram lines in Princess Street; No tram has ever ran on those lines and now no tram will ever run on those lines.

Millions and millions have been spent with many years of utter chaos for a plan now to be abandoned. So presumably we will need to spend many more millions and have many more years of chaos as they dig it all back up!

So what next, well, we are going to spend 325 million building a railway to the Borders that nobody wants (87% of borderers give the thumbs down to the plan in the most recent poll) and of course the 325million is only the estimate, so it will probably be at least a billion.

Indeed, I came in by bus this morning as I had left my bike at work last night (social) and was listening to Boogie & Dingo on the radio. Just as I was crossing the lines on Princess St they were talking about what we could do with them now that trams were not going to. One suggestion was to put mobile shops on them so you could stand still and let the shops come to you rather than walk. A bit like Sushi. Another was to create a ride for kids using a Thomas train.
