Miracle on 34th Street

Terra Ferma, (a super film about people risking death as they try to enter Italy aboard overcrowded boats. There is a particularly powerful, lingering, silent scene between two women, who don't speak each other's language, and who convey great emotion with their eyes alone. It's particularly relevant with the recent death of hundreds of immigrants trying to reach Lampedusa.)

Just remembered...that bit in The Goodbye Girl when they find his guitar. Neil Simon is just the master at this sort of thing - sort of like Burt Bacharach...not every one will work for you, but you can always see why they work.

Me too.
Anyone watch "999 what's your emergency" on Channel 4 last night. The dignity of the 86 year old man who watched his wife die in front of his eyes was very moving.
I had to instruct OH to turn it over, I'm the same at work with distressed relatives. The parents I can cope with, but when the Grandads start crying it tips me over the edge.

"The Lacemaker" where Isabelle Huppert goes crackers at the end.

I also don't like ET when he's on the bedroom floor, and "Kes" is a film long blub-a-thon.
