These are £185, but do include Continental tyres and a jersey! Lightweight at 1545g and with some great reviews......

Superstar Components have discounted wheelsets at £99.99 sapim spokes and nipples, decent hubs, semi aero rims and weigh in at circa 1500 grammes. Colours are limited and not to everyone's taste.
I have just done two road races on them and they have behaved faultlessly.

Hand built from a decent wheelwain... But otherwise, fulcrum racing 5s and never look back. Bb

You must have missed a recent thread on fulcrums.

Fulcrum 5's are fine wheels. I've had a couple of sets with no problems.
I commuted on them every day on some shocking roads, and I'm not exactly small.

While i'd be disappointed too Derrick, i suspect your problem was perhaps not such a common one, or perhaps a bad batch.
I've run Fulcrum 5s now since 2010 and while i don't do the mileage i used to, they have done a good few miles and are still working perfectly.
Best £150 i spent.
I'd say the same about R500s, circa £70 when i got mine, still running, thousands and thousands of miles later with only a couple of hub overhauls They do flex a bit, but not too bad...but OP isnt struck on them TBF.
