Aye, I tried it in reverse recently. I agree, much easier. That descent is crazy, though not as crazy as the descent of Tak Ma Doon when you don't notice the Ford!

Yeah Neil has one of those. I had went in with the intention of getting the TK but they didn't have any in my size and reckoned he could do me a deal on the Gran Fondo. Its going to have a 105 groupset.

Neil's putting a 39/53 on it with a 12-25 cassette, I manage fine with the Sirrus (42/50 and 12/26) so hopefully that'll be OK if not I might opt for a 12-27 cassette like you've got. Did you need to make an changes when you put the larger cassette on?

No, the chain length was just long enough. I have a spare 11-23 ultegra cassette if you want it (for a small fee of course!)
