I'm sure the DHB Aeron ones are the best. I think they even have the same cycletech pad that the Rapha ones have. I have loads of different makes and I still go for the DHB shorts if I think I'm going to be out for a while.
I don't think the OP is looking for baggies, but anyway ... The Hummvees linked are nice, practical, shorts with a good set of pockets (but not for anything sharp). For a lighter weight pair of baggy shorts try DHB Navro, less in the way of pockets, but lighter weight.
Hi all, I'm looking at getting a new pair of padded cycling shorts, would be glad of any opinions as to the best that people have had in the past? Any opinions greatly appreciated........
As an owner of both a pair of DHB Aeron bibshorts and Rapha bibshorts I can say the pads are NOT the same. The DHB padding is good but the Rapha is a tiny bit thicker and firmer. The Rapha pad also has an extra bit of thinner padding that extends slightly down the inner thigh protecting against any rub on the saddle. The DHB shorts are good but for an extra £20 you can get the Rapha Core bibshorts that are excellent with better padding, fit and a more durable material.
