Hi all, I'm looking at getting a new pair of padded cycling shorts, would be glad of any opinions as to the best that people have had in the past? Any opinions greatly appreciated........

maybe too budget/basic for you but really like the aldi (crane) ones for 8 quid i bought in the sale this week.

DHB - Wiggle gear is good I find and your not crying in your tea if you have a tumble as they ar reasonably priced and I at least find them comfortable and have adequate padding.....but each to there own.....:cuppa:

I've got Altura, Garneau, Planet X and Btwin ones and can honestly say that they're all much of a muchness.

Brands are brands all much of a muchness, some brands might have a slightly different cut, but it's mostly aesthetics, the real value is in the padding!

Cheeper ones - pads tend to be softer but not as comfortable for as long, also tend to wear out.

expensive ones -pads are more firm and comfortable over longer distances, they also last longer but they are expensive!

As said above the dhb range from wiggle is decent mid range gear and iv never had a sore arse wearing them.

My Funkier ar OK for 20 milers. A ything over that I wear my Endura Pro @ £60.00
I tried Pearl Izumi at twice that price.......a good fit but the padding wasnt as good for me. So I went back to Endura.

I have been wearing Funkier (their 7 panel basic) for the last 3 years and have done 200 mile days with no problems though they are getting a little tired now so I might treat myself to some Funkier Bib shorts .
