Best road bike for £1500 - £1800

I'm chucking my tuppence worth in here ... At your price range Cube are worth a look but Focus or Canyon is def worth a butchers too.

As mentioned above, nothing beats a test ride and there are lots to choose from... I recently acquired a Trek Madone 3.5 in 2012 spec (RRP £1800 reduced to £1500), and I absolutely love it – carbon and Ultegra were way beyond what I was originally expecting from my next bike, but I'm not complaining! That Canyon Ultimate CF9 that a bunch of peeps have pointed to above.

Great geometry, very light frame, exceptionally highly rated by the comics, Ultegra AND Mavic Equipe's for £1637????? Phenomenal value. Nothing else comes close.

Then look at the finishing kit.

The Canyon looks equally good. Not that it matters, but does anyone else think Canyon go overboard with the logos? Its like any blank space stick a "Canyon.com" logo in there.

I it a bit OTT on the "team" white colour, but there are far fewer logos on the black version - and the "stealth" version is, well, stealthy

That's the one I have my eye on, if I ever get promoted. And Mrs Noodley has not said no...so that's as good as an agreement in my book

In black the canyon is pretty free of other stickers

That's a hell of a bike for the money isn't it? Well, its a hell of a bike full stop. Hard to look past Canyon at the moment, not that I need or can justify anything more than I have!
