So basically I want a front & rear light which can be moved quickly around bikes & easily carried in case of main light failure or if I have an event in town from work & find it's dark when I'm leaving for the office? I want them to be battery powered rather than USB chargable. I just come up with the Knog boomer. Any other options & am I mistake to ignore the 2x CR2032 lights which are available now? The single CR2032 lights were pointless.

How about Planet X: they're selling their Phaart lights (don't laugh!) at half price. The Aeon 3 Watt front light's a clone of the Smart Lunar 35, just as good and a steal at a fiver. There's also a clone of the Smart Superflash for £2.50. The dual 0.5 W rear light's also quite good, not quite so good quality but then it's only £2.50 as well.

The Dark Star is a clone of the Revolution Vision front light I have.

http://www.edinburghbicycle.com/pro...t-set?bct=browse/accessories/lights-batteries (only sold in a front/rear pack on edinburgh cycles these days)

It got 4 or 5 stars on bike radar which is why I bought it. Good light and long life from battery too.

Knog Frog Strobes, rather than the old Knog Frogs are pretty decent. Theyre tiny, attach quickly and easily, and are pretty tough, not bright enough to see by, but are quite eyecatching and decent as a backup. Id be happy riding with just them, but would prefer more if it was going to be a regular thing.

Similar situation but looking for a backup/flasher. Think i will get that phaart 3w and one of those cheap 1/2 watt rear lights too, silly prices:wacko:
The only thing i cant decide on is a decent front light, only got £40 to spend and im abit dubious of these t6 lights on e-bay??

Was looking at the t6 torches so i didnt have to mess about too much, have been reading the thread on here about the chinese xml`s. Was thinking about getting two torches and getting some 18650 batteries and charger from torchy`s ebay.

oh wait you referring to this ? or the singular torches....if the latter then i ran two with 18650 and battery from torchy it was ok for city riding and bright enough but the throw isnt far but itll do the job

i went for the former recently backed up with a hope vision one and thats plenty good enough

Mmmm, not sure then, not sure if i buy a couple of cheapy ones like the cree q5 torches or to buy as you mentioned in your link. £40 limit so might get one of each, its just that old saying - buy cheap buy twice?

if you buy the one in the link youll be happy but if its bust you wont feel down beaten neither (well i wont be) give it a try if it dont im sure someone on here will snap it up i probably will

i ran the cree q5 my apologies they all look alike...but for me the link i gave will give a better spread of light however if you get the torch use that as your 'flasher' as the other one will make pedestrians have a fit
