and for the rest of us to shout "arse"

And what it sounds like when sung properly:

Lovely work Noodlebug. They are both good - and alive! I slightly prefer the sweaty look though, as the dickie bows conjure up images of Abitrary doing his day job...

I have always liked this and will get yer feet tapping for 'Tubetide'

Choir only -In the Bleak Mid winter but has to be 'Darke's' version with solo treble for first verse, In dulci jubilo (8 part version can't remember who by)

Congregational probably Once In Royal with descant and whilst I don't particularly like Hark the Herald I love the full organ unison for the last verse on Christmas Morning.

I miss my singing, thinking of dragging boys along to Cathedral for lessons and carols Sunday evening, I will weep for sure! - so will they when they hear me sing!:becool:

Yep, did that as a Choirister. Lovely to sing and to hear when sung by a small group in a big Cathedral acoustic.

and in between the singing my friend and I used to eat our marzipan chocolates, our own little christmas tradition!

I like the minor key ones, "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" and "In the bleak midwinter" although I struggle with the rather inaccurate imagery in the second one. The descant in Hark The Herald is spine-tingling if you have a decent soprano singing it.

I'm now in a church choir which has some excellent professional singers in it (and then me!) but have gone down with a sore throat lurgi and have had to bow out of the 9 Lessons & Carols tomorrow night. Either that or I should learn the tenor/baritone parts and sing them!
