I have only recently got my bike and use it to commute to and from work, I have used both Runtastic Cycle and Strava however both pause halfway through my journey and dont give me an accurate reading for distance, AVG Speed, increment etc.... What app wouod you lot recommend??

You can turn off the auto pause feature on Strava by going to "Record Activity" then "Settings" and pressing on "Auto Pause".

How are you recording the data? Garmin will be more accurate than phone generally
Or just get a good old fashioned wireless cateye computer

I use a wahoo Blu cadence/speed sensor with the wahoo utility app. It records the lot very accurately. Cost me £50 and well worth it.

Failing that Strava is the best one I've used. You can turn auto pause off you just gotta remember to stop and start it.

What phone do you have? D

I use Strava. Its reasonably accurate and free! Don't take too much notice of the max speed recording though - according to Strava my daughter went from 0-42mph in less time than a Ferrari!
I think that happens when you lose GPS signal ^_^

I find Strava perfect for my needs. Free, can run on my iPhone, syncs well with other apps.

Only ever had a few nightmares where I've stopped halfway through a route and accidentally clicked 'finish'. So I ended up with two smaller journeys in one day, as opposed to one big one (that sort of thing keeps me awake at night!)

When I first started using it, it wouldn't track me on the route - but that sorted itself out over time - perhaps I was using it wrong to start with.

My favourite is Sportstracker. Never had any problems with it and it is dead simple to use. There is a premium version with extra features - but the free version does all the basics.

I've so far had no problems with Strava, and for a free app (not ready to pay for the premium just yet) i think its fantastic.
