Yes, I'd say have a local beer.

Perhaps NT and I ought to have something from the York Brewery when we get round to our wedding..

theres a beer in yorkshire i'm happy to recommend their product, I've no connection to the company, just a happy consumer, especially after a few.

I'd second the plastic glass incase any are dropped etc, with regards to cans and not being full pints, I doubt anyone will complain if they're not having to pay for it.

10 weeks' time, beer, Rochester? Sounds like a Spring social ride for us Londoners! Have you warned your fiancée?

forget the keg, more hassel than its worth.
Get in more slabs of beer that you can possibly use to ensure you do not run out.
get a verierity of different beers, so you can have a greater range available

Blimey! I think people will appreciate the free beer what ever form it comes in!

At a friends wedding two summers ago the bar had white/red wine by the glass and bottled lager. It was £5 which ever option you chose.

Luckily, I have a handbag big enought to fit a bottle of wine in!

I agree that for lager it's easier to just get cans. Once it's poured into a glass with a head on you almost get a pint. No one will be bothered, it's free beer after all.

A lager keg is too much hassel. I have been to a few places where the lager in kegs has the wrong gas mix, and you end up with glass after glass of froth.

If you have a bitter keg, remember to move it into position the day before so it can settle back down.

We had bottled lager at our wedding. Clearing up the next day, it was astonishing how few open bottles had actually been finished. It seemed as if most people took a swig, but the bottle down, forgot where it was, so simply got another (and repeat...).

Had a pal do exactly this and bottles worked fine. To get another drink you had to take your empty back to the bar. Meant there was no one taking a swig and leaving half bottles every where. It worked a treat!!!
