I got stung like yourself on Sunday last week when a wasp/bee got stuck in my helmet. Very annoying as helmet was a little uncomfortable for the rest of the ride.

That's unfortunate...

Try wearing a buff underneath. I wear one to keep sweat out my eyes, but will also help here too. ;)

I got wasped under the helmet a few weeks ago.. My road helmet has netting, my MTB one doesn't. Wouldn't have helped anyway as the flying chav got in under the rim and by the time I'd undone the strap and launched my hat, the b*gger had got me!

A wasp got me on my finger whilst out on yesterdays ride. Little blighter was hitching a ride on the handlebars and I decided, foolishly, to try and knock it off. Still, I seem to be getting off lightly this year, I was stung at least half a dozen times last summer.

Although I'm now thinking I might need to get a buff sooner rather than later...

Ran across this useful information, directly useful here:
Bee venom is acidic- weak ammonia, damp bicarbonate of soda, or a damp bag of washing blue will neutralize it.
Wasp venom is alkaline- dilute acetic acid, vinegar, or lemon juice will help neutralize the venom.

I took a wasp in my helmet, threw off helmet, and wee bugger was still in there. Few bashes with my pump sorted it out. ruined a strava segment I was flying in due to tail wind
