Hi Rebecca, I think your headgear option with timing chip stuck to a badge is probably workable and is still relevant. The chip needs to be at head height to be caught by the reader. It's only your plastic rider number which gets fixed to the handlebars. This indicates to the route marshals that you are part of the event and is used by the official photographers to identify individuals. Hope this helps.

Hi

Let us know Rebecca. I think you timing chip can be mounted on anything that would be stuck to if that makes sense. They have had chips on numbers but i think in the early days they didnt read well, I will check on this and put it on the next entry newsletter.

Hope to see you there.

What a nice touch from the organisers!

Can't believe there are no trains to Minehead, its a holiday resort too. We are now a team of five for the day and hopefully bigger, really looking forward to it and I have just entered one of the Black Rats ride, although the signing was terrible last year the scenery makes up for it!!

Been looking at this one as my possible first event. Seems to be more of a social ride rather than too competitive!

I have been up to the 50 mile mark, but lately been more 30 - 40 (mainly due to weather though!!:rain: ), so need to pluck up some courage and sign up.

My friend has said he'd like to do it too, but I shall see him at the end as he is MUCH fitter and faster!!!

Hi Chewy

This event has been thought up for riders like yourself. It will have the fast riders no doubt, but most riders will be on the road to relax and enjoy. Really will be the event for you and looks to be filling fast with first timers as well as long time riders.

Go for it!!
