I find that i am just gutting it out when the weather is typically Scottish. A bit of sunshine goes a long way with me. In fact many a rest day has been scuppered when the sun decided to shine and i could not resist her warm yellow charm.
What about those days you finally decide to get out regardless of the weather, and half an hour after you get back the sun starts shining eh ?

I've entered the forthcoming Bealach Beag. Are there any of my fellow Cycle Chatters doing it? I've never met a real Cycle Chatter before....I'm staying in Sheildaig for two nights...anyone up for a beer or two...Champions League is on that night...good night for pub football watching.

Sorry I missed this post at the time.

How did you get on? It was pretty windy coming back to Shieldaig which was just about the worst place for a headwind.....I was certainly chewing the handlebar tape for the last 6 miles. However it stayed dry, so that was a bonus

I really enjoyed it.It was as hard as I imagined it would be and then some...never trained enough for it but not too unhappy with my time of 4 hrs 55mins....I did a lot of stopping to take pics and look at the amazing landscape...am going to enter next year for sure :bicycle:

No doubt, see you there

The views towards Skye on the day really were stunning, although hard to look at when descending the Bealach ;-)

Aye not much time for sight seeing on that stretch eh!......needed to keep your wits about you and it was a good test of how good you can handle a bike I thought?..What was your time like? Super fast?

I managed 2h 48mins which considering the wind I was pretty pleased with, but I was aiming for 2h 45min - I was riding with the 2 guys who placed second and third time-wise until the bottom of the Bealach, but couldn't manage to match their 33 and 37min climb times so ended up essentially riding the rest of the route solo - will try to find that extra 3 mins next year :-)

 That's seriously fast! Well done. I'm signed up for the Mor, think my pacing might be a wee bit more leisurely.
