I liked the first 3 - I mean IV, V & VI. I was OK I guess, too much kid and not enough of anything else, fell asleep in II (too much politics)and I think that I vaguely remember III. I'd go to the cinema and see the original ones again.

IV, V, and VI were superb. I fell asleep in 1. Mrs vernon was amazed that I could find inner peace and snooze through what she described as a minor earthquake generated by the soundtrack and a Dolby sound system. I never saw II and III.

Listening to Radio Four today I heard folk reminisce about the first three films and It generated a yearning to revisit those. It was also reassuring to hear critics describe the prequels as being over reliant on CGI and losing the 'emotional/spiritual content of the original three films. I don't feel that I have lost out by not seeing them.

Meanwhile I'm entertaining myself with this

Now that's the best Star Wars film of them all. Seen it dozens of times and it still cracks me up. Poor old Geoff Vader.
