I'm getting a fsa bb30 chainset from a fellow on the forum, could someone link me to a bottom bracket that is comparable, I heard shimano ones were compatible for fsa chansets is this true?

BB30 is press fit. I don't think Shimano make compatible BB's for press fit.
But may be wrong.

Sugar! sounds complicated. I've been told the frame I'm getting is bb30 compatible so I'm sure that makes things slightly easier

Yupp it is deffo press fit cheers for that I've been watching a few videos looks like they reccomend using a proper tool or taking it to your lbs.... But in all honesty could I not just knock the bearings in with a rubber mallet? As I want this done on the cheap

Yes use a wooden block larger than the bearings or go to your local hardware store and buy a over sized nut and bolt and some washers the same size as the bearing .. think I paid £4 in total to make mine .. tap the bearings (gently 12/6/3/9 clock location of tapping and repeat until level with the frame) then use the bolt and washers to finish off (washer bolt through bearing / washer nut the other and tighten)...do not over tighten the bearing home.

You can buy THIS tool to put over the bearing, but as Norman said, a wooden block will do the job as well.

When it comes to removal they do sell another TOOL, but in all honesty when you're removing what does it matter, just drift them out with a large screwdriver, but do be careful not to damage the internal flange in the BB shell that the bearing sits against.

As for bearings they start with ones like THIS and go upto stuff like THIS

If you think that's bad ..check out the price of Shimano's TOOL

Pics below of me removing said crankset and the bearings & retaining cir-clips on the frame. I have ordered the wheels mfg adapters so need to retain the bearings as fitted.

Bought what I was told is a bb30 today all it is is two bearings, and two clips, is this the entire thing? Cost me £20 at a lbs... Halfords had one but refused to sell it to me as the worker wanted it for himself.

There should be two bearings / two bearing shields (flat plastic disc washers) and a wave washer like this

I would put a complaint in to Halfords management about the conduct of their staff ... they can't retain items for their own personal use while a customer requires it
