used to be in drops a lot when the saddle was a bit lower, almost always hoods these days although drops when it's the wrong wind or having a blatt, london commuting encourages an upright position
It took me 6 months to get my body used to being on drops. Now I spend a lot of time there and have even flipped my stem back over.. It just takes time.
I've only been riding drop-bars for 3-4 weeks and I use the hoods 90% of the time.
I'm in the drops/hooks mainly on downhill bits or bits where I feel I might need to break hard.
My usage of the drops/hooks tends to be all about getting sufficient leverage on the brakes to stop quickly.
