we had two young riders on last month's FNRttC who'd rolled their own. They went to a weekend workshop, started with seven pieces of bamboo, and came away with bikes. And jolly nice bikes they were too!

The first one was patented in 1894. There is an 1896 example in Prague still in existence. Not sure I'd take one to Cwmcarn though…
