That'll be the reason - they are an extremely thin-walled tyre. I know people who get only 3-400 miles out of them.

I run Marathon Plus tyres on mine, which I can highly recommend.

My Big Apples arrived today - just dashing out so can't try them out yet but we'll fit them later today and see how it goes.

Will they affect the reading of my trip computer as they're bigger?

Your computer will under-read and needs to be reset.

I'll have to do some maths then after measuring it.

It gives a very different reading from my husband's computer anyway - he always thinks he's gone further and at a higher average speed. I don't want mine to be even worse!
