I'm never bothered about getting wet. Keeping warm is the key. On my commute I might wear a showerproof or the like just as I'm not going for long enough (about 30mins) to really get warm. Lycra dries pretty quickly.

Mudguards are probably the best investment as they keep you and the bike that bit cleaner. I often wear a cotton cap under my helmet which soaks up the water a bit in the we andthe peak stops water dripping down into my eyes.

I wear glasses so a peaked helmet is a must for me otherwise I cant see for rain on the lenses.

that's why they invented waterproof helmet covers, having long hair (in a bun when cycling), it's probably the best wet weather accessory for me
