Cycling home yesterday I spotted a man on a very nice bike with all the right accessories, but his helmet was on backwards strapped to his head!
Has anyone seen similiar? He must have been doing it on purpose

Perhaps he wears all his hats on back to front, like they do these days

Candice, you might want to remove or amend your signature as your name is eminently Googleable.

(Nice picture at work btw.)

I see kids at my child's school with it on the wrong way and I usually tell them, and sometimes have been known to give them a sticker to put on the helmet if they are a repeat offender. The mum didn't seem particularly bothered though.

I remember being in Halfords years ago. There was a big photo poster above the Helmets display showing a bloke and a bird wearing their helmets. Even so, a customer tried nearly every one on BACKWARDS and couldn't make up her mind which one to buy.

Oh, how we laughed.

I had to get one with a peak on the front to ensure I always face the right way.

Do you have a pair of wellies with 'L' and 'R' painted on them?

I knew a girl once who bought her knickers from C&A.

No, a vast number of people don't know how to wear a helmet properly, from the hilarious got-it-on-backwards to those who just wear it at a funny angle perched on the back of the head, with the strap so loose it dangles under their chin...

*Raises hand* :becool:

Any chance you could outline the basics of a helmet, as stupid as it sounds. Should it be perfectly flat? And how tight?

A helmet should be fitted so that it is horizontal on your head, you should be able to see the front brim slightly if you look upwards. It should be fairly firmly on your head even without the straps - using that back adjustment. And you should be able to fit 2 fingers under the chin strap or feel it when you open your mouth wide. And the triangle bits at the side should lie just underneath your ears.
