Happy New Year everyone!

My festive break has been a mixed bag. My wife came down with a really nasty bug on Christmas eve (fever, sweats, weakness etc). So I ended up doing Christmas dinner for 4 adults and 2 kids, a lot for me as I don't cook much. A bit crazy, but I managed it,a lthough by the end of the day I was....

The bug is still hanging on Mrs Magnatom and she has been very up and down with it

Still, we made it over to Ireland for a wedding on the 29th in Cork. The attached picture hints at what type of wedding it was!

So any festive stories to tell?

Survived it all rather well thanks, what with the weather , relatives visits, long running cold symptoms etc

The wedding was fun, although for a lot of the trip my wife wasn't sure if being there was a good idea (although she was fine for the wedding itself). She did very well consdering how crapshe felt.

So dare I ask why you were lounging about on peoples couches, or is it best not to ask!?

Forgot to add, my oldest boy got a Islabikes Cnoc 16 for Christmas. Great little bike, I am jealous!

Yet another picture of you with your mouth open: There's a pattern developing

Looks a good time. Hope Mrs. Magnatom gets well, some of these bugs take it out of you.

Aye, Mrs Magnatom went to bed early tonight. Still not right. It's not been fun for me, but it's been nasty for her. She'll need a wee treat when she's better. I'm sure she wants a new Specialized Tricross Sport 56cm frame....:laugh:

Looks a good wedding. Some of them can be pretty boring and staid.

Sympathies to your wife, I hope she is over the lurgy soon. It can be pretty demoralising. All the best and have a good new year.

Happy new year Magnatom, looks like you had a good time and I hope the wife feels better soon. I had a pretty quiet Christmas but it looks like I've caught that camera bug

Aye, I saw that. Looks good. I hope you have little need to use it in anger. The last few months of my commute have been very quiet. Not much to film (apart from numpty cyclists of course!). I'm not complaining.

My return to cycling on Monday looks like it will be delayed. I've got jury duty!

Is that the pansy flat bar one or the proper drop bar jobby? If the latter, I had a close looke at one, very nice. If the former, I'll reluctantly admit, it's OK. ;)

Is there a flat bar version? I'm looking at the drop bar version. It's about £750 which is a considerable jump in price for me, but I hope to get it via the cycle to work scheme (and I have some cash for a helmet camera article I've wrote coming my way:smile:).
