Have you looked at COTIC Roadrat, and Escapade ? Not as common as most, British company of MTB background. Roadrat has flat bars, escapade drops. Will take rack mounts, mudguards, tyres upto 40mm, MTB style geometry and basically a real do it all bike. Pick your groupset, hope finishing kit or be brave and go single speed !!! Frame set starts under £400 and you can have a full bike for £999, geared with full hydraulic disc and sora groupset. You can spec a better groupset and hope wheels if you choose.
