Or they could just find an empty car park on a Sunday and bloody practice.

I don't think it's a bad idea; some people might be proficient at parking but not able to do it very quickly. If it sends a message to other drivers to "B patient" then I think it's a good thing. So many cars (mostly BMWs) drive past at speed when someone is trying to maneuvre; if they just waited for 5 seconds it would make everything a lot safer

'B' for bloody?

If it sends a message to other drivers to "B patient" then I think it's a good thing
Yes; and that seems a much better message than "B = bad"!

The news article linked in the OP does indeed sound like an April Fool, the way they've written it. the idea does have some merits, IMHO!.

Not that I ever needed one - I was of course a natural at parking from the beginning...

Where did you see that? I couldn't find any evidence of it.

When Daughter #3 passed her test a decade back it was in her insurers small print that she must not display P plates or green L plates. I'm not entirely sure as Mr D sorted it at the time but I think it might have been Sheila's Wheels.

However you view it they are a public admission that you are not a fully competent or confident driver, hence their being in the first place. You can see how that might raise questions at claim time when faukt is being disputed.

Are these plates for drivers to put on their own cars, and therefore admit some kind of imperfection? That's not going to happen! Particularly among the German car owners normally found in the right hand lane of motorways doing 3 figure speeds while 3 feet from the bumper of the car in front.
Or are they for pedestrians to attach to cars which they see parked badly? In that case they could be big sellers.

Nearly a quarter (23 per cent) of drivers believe they weren't taught well enough when it came to parking manoeuvres.

Of course it has to be someone else's fault. Driving lessons only teach the basic principles, enough to pass the test. After that, the learning really begins. Not much point learning how to park your instructors Ford Fiesta perfectly, then expect to be able to do the same when mummy and daddy buy you a Range Rover when you pass your test. As @Gunk posted, go out and practice parking the thing until you get it right, in all different situations.
