Whilst the highway code is correct in saying to sit there and wait by going slow in the middle of the lane you are inviting people to make a dangerous overtake, that isnt how it should be but its how it is. Not everything runs by the rules and if you know a certain situation is likely to provoke danger then simply dont it, or dont bitch about it at least. If you ride like a slug in the middle of the lane you may get squashed.
