Most of my rides are in the 30-60 mile range, and I rarely average more than 13mph, usually on a chunky Croix de Fer.
I did some longer rides, and in June did 100 miles at 11.8 mph.

When I did RideLondon in 2022, I used the faster Allez, and managed about 19 mph. Had very little training but was lighter. Don't think I could do that now.

(Both speeds are based on moving time, not elapsed).

Will be trying a 250mile audax in May. Haven't ever attempted such a distance before. Not sure if I'll finish within the time limit!

11.8mph would be about right for 9 hours actually cycling.

The idea of having a goal to aim for is because my average speeds are beginning to slip. Having a goal gives me something to work towards.

250miles sounds a bit much for me.

I'm nervous, more about warmth of clothing and muscular issues than anything else.
Night riding - no problem. Lack of sleep - no problem. Saddle comfort - no problem.
Distance? Not really sure!

I’m a serial mile muncher and I’ll always try and get a 100miler in every week (race events permitting) Like everyone has said it’s totally dependent on weather, the amount of climbing and if it’s a group ride or on your own. For me doing a recreational ride it can be anything from 7hrs down to 5hrs. My best TT race time is 3hr31min but it wasn’t very enjoyable, I certainly didn’t look around to take the views in
