I had a bar end rotary bell which wouldn't be easily spotted.
Stupid idea, as it happened: the bike fell over and destroyed the bell.

Hornit , battery powered, discreet , but not to the ears, an electronic shrieking excess of 115 dB, or an air zound horn ,powered by compressed air, just pump it up for a least 30 honks, again very loud,
I have a Hornit , did have an airZound, I prefer the airZound .but riding the recumbent it's awkward to fit and mount, Hornit has 'push to talk' trigger, the airZound, had a safety interlock, so it's not accidentally discharged, a 2 stage trigger, a light press to disengage ,then fully depress it.
Believe me ,airZound is loud !
