Shut it ! I'm coming round to let your tyres down !

Sorry, but at 43 this year I've accepted the fact that the Olympic selection committee isn't going to come knocking at my door. But on the upside if I keep training and riding hard I reckon I'll be able to take on Lance by the time I'm 50. Unless of course he still has access to better pills than me.

Veteran agre records from our club

10 mile TT - 23.16 - 70 year old
25 mile TT - 59.50 - 71 yr old
50 mile TT 1.59.50 - 65 year old

And the best one yet was set this year 31 minutes 38 seconds for a ten mile TT - Age 82!

Food for thought

Well I am 43, and was cycing home Wednsday, beautiful weather doing blistering 23 mph on the flat, I was over taken by a guy on a TT bike, who was definately older than me, I latched onto his back wheel at 27 mph !
so there's still room for my own improvement !

Ironically after lighting up my PB's this week I was thinking the same as the OP, when it is downhill on speed, reading this has cheered me up

At 60 am still doing personal best's, only started road biking about a year ago, and have watched my average go up to 16.4 mph over a 40 mile route, and i think there is more to come, have ridden mtb's for quite a few years before i started on the road, am enjoying myself more now than ever before, have got family and freinds involved as well. ^_^
